Award Categories

Films screened at the Annual Multimedia Film Festival of York Region are eligible to potentially win the following awards within each identified category (Elementary Students/Children (ages 6-13); Secondary/Youth (14-18); All Inclusive Category (no age restrictions).

• Top Three Documentaries

• Top Three Photo-Voices

• Best Drama

• Best Animation

• Best Cinematography 

• Best Editing  

Award winners will be announced the evening of the Awards/Closing Gala.

Awards

Award winners will receive a beautifully crafted one-of-a-kind stone craved art piece on behalf of the Multimedia Film Development Council of York Region. A world renowned artist will be commissioned to create the artwork for the awards. Stay tuned!

Award winners, will also be given the opportunity to further their multimedia development skills via exclusive workshops created by York University, Faculty of Fine Arts.

The Council is also exploring opportunities for relevant product donation from corporate bodies in the multimedia industry.
