Hidden in Plain Sight: Living Homeless in York Region

Hidden in Plain Sight: Living Homeless in York Region is the first photo voice project in York Region to bring the visual voices of homeless and precariously housed individuals to the screen to provide a glimpse into some perspectives of homelessness, hidden homelessness and risk of homelessness in our communities. Photo voice is an action research method that puts cameras into the hands of those with lived experience to document their voices – a critical component of social change. The photos illustrate various shelters and circumstances and challenges faced by people living on the margins of our communities.
